Following the efficient launch of lightweight fuel-cell stack modules, Novares has joined the hydrogen industry association France Hydrogène to expand its activities in the hydrogen-fueled car business.
The plastic fuel-cell stack was developed and manufactured by Novares’ powertrain and e-powertrain business, one of the company’s seven product lines, which reduced the component’s weight by 35% and cost by 25% compared to standard metal alternatives.
To help the hydrogen-powered vehicle market in the main three automotive industry regions, the company’s powertrain Skill Centers in Lens, France, Walworth, USA, and Shanghai, China, are developing new technologies for all car engines, including battery, hybrid, and fuel-cell systems.
Novares will be able to partner with other players in the developing hydrogen economy and boost the sector’s role in the automotive industry by joining France Hydrogène. The activities of the association are aimed at promoting and improving France’s hydrogen sector and economy.
Novares makes significant investments in research and development in order to provide the automotive industry with solutions to today’s environmental problems. Vehicle weight reduction is critical for lowering fuel consumption and emissions, and plastic parts are naturally lighter, leading to overall vehicle energy efficiency.
