Safra to present first hydrogen retrofit kit at Hyvolution
The first hydrogen retrofit kit from Safra will be unveiled on February 1 and 2 during Hyvolution, which will take place at Paris Porte de Versailles.
The business, which was introduced at Autocar Expo in October, is currently applying for approval.
With the help of ADEME, the French Agency for Ecological Transition, and registered under the trade name H2-PACK, Safra has developed an H2 retrofit kit that turns a diesel coach into a zero-emission vehicle that only emits water vapor. This is a real technical accomplishment.
Marinetrans becomes sponsor of TU Delft Hydro Motion Team
The foiling hydrogen boat project at Delft Technical University now has Marinetrans as a partner. Together with other maritime businesses, Marinetrans is currently helping this varied group of students compete in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge with a foiling hydrogen-powered boat, demonstrating to the industry the viability of sustainable propulsion options.
The TU Delft Hydro Motion Team was established to provide the marine sector with a variety of ways to address climate-related business concerns. Every year, a brand-new team of 20+ students is created with the goal of advancing sustainable technology.
The “Aurora” is being constructed from the ground up and will have a monohull made of carbon fiber and no emissions. For the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, where all teams compete on manoeuvrability, speed, and endurance, the foiling system has been redesigned in order to save as much weight as feasible. The fact that all other teams consist of seasoned professionals makes the competition and developing their own technologies for the student team all the more exciting. Even better, they create their own lithium battery.
CenterPoint Energy registers green hydrogen facility on M-RETS
In order to track renewable thermal certificates, CenterPoint Energy, the largest natural gas provider in Minnesota, registered a green hydrogen facility on the M-RETS renewable thermal tracking system.
The facility owned by CenterPoint Energy, which started operating in 2022, is the first green hydrogen facility in North America to register with a tracking system. The company is also receiving the first green hydrogen RTCs ever given in the country.
RTCs are a tool that illustrates the environmental benefits of green hydrogen, renewable natural gas, and other renewable thermal commodities. On behalf of its consumers, CenterPoint Energy intends to retire the RTCs produced by its green hydrogen production.
Moscow to host championship to create car models running on hydrogen
At least 20 teams of schoolchildren and students from Moscow’s universities and colleges will be chosen for the event.
Each team will consist of drivers, mechanics, engineers, and designers aged 11 to 21. Following the selection of the competitors, a 20-hour training program awaits them. The test and qualifying races are set for March 17, with the final on March 18.
The contests will take place at VDNKh, with the preliminary part taking place in the Tekhnograd educational complex and the races taking place in hall No. 55. The top five teams will represent Moscow at the All-Russian stage of the First tournament. The finalists will meet in April of this year at the Smena Children’s Center in Anapa.
Hexagon Purus opens Westminster facility
Hexagon Purus held a grand opening celebration at their 60,000 square foot facility in Westminster.
The company creates compressed hydrogen storage fuel systems for a range of uses and has facilities all over the world, including its headquarters in Norway and three other locations in the United States.
