AFC Energy-led consortium gets UK govt funding
The UK Department for Transport and Innovate UK are the funders of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, which is being administered by AFC Energy PLC, a developer of hydrogen power generating systems. An AFC-led partnership has been granted GBP676,500 to build and incorporate its exclusive ammonia cracker reactor technology with internal combustion engines intended for maritime applications. The proof-of-concept demonstration findings should be published a full year after funding begins in the first quarter.
Nilsson Energy building hydrogen filling station at Nykvarn
A new hydrogen filling station is being built by Nilsson Energy at the Nykvarn exit on the E20. The hydrogen filling station will only provide green hydrogen when it opens in the summer of 2024.
With this infrastructure investment, Nykvarn, a rapidly developing municipality east of Södertälje and a major center for heavy transportation, now has the chance to lessen its negative environmental effects.
Italy gets hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for recreational boating
By the summer of 2024, the first station of a €100 million green hydrogen refueling infrastructure for recreational boating, headed by NatPower H, a division of the NatPower group, is expected to be established in Italy.
Twenty-five Italian marinas and ports have already committed to the project, which will see the construction of 100 refueling stations by Zaha Hadid Architects over the course of the next six years, as well as the export of the model to other regions outside of the Mediterranean Sea, according to NatPower H.
