P2X Solutions has signed an agreement on the Front-end Engineering Design (FEED) of a hydrogen production facility with Sweco.

The design is carried out in cooperation with various stakeholders, and it includes technical design of the project, plant location, specification and tenders of the main equipment, and a permit review. Front-end Engineering Design will be completed by the end of 2021.

“P2X Solutions’ first hydrogen production facility is a 20-megawatt industrial-scale entity that we believe can be replicated in other plants both in Finland and around the world. The FEED study lays the foundation for making the first investment decision. Sweco is an experienced and reliable design consultancy, with a strong will to be our partner as one of the pioneers of hydrogen economy”, says Herkko Plit, CEO of P2X Solutions.

P2X Solutions has applied investment support from the national grant mechanisms for the first plant. After the investment decision, the company will start detailed design and procurement of the facility. The aim is to start construction work at the site in late 2022 and to commission the plant in2024.
