Australia is about to construct and operate its first such manufacturing facility. The country’s leading auto recycling and automobile disposal company, has confirmed that a hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing factory would be built in Greater Springfield, Queensland.

LAVO Hydrogen Technology Limited is developing the LAVO HESS (Hydrogen Energy Storage Device), which it says is a “groundbreaking” energy storage system for powering homes and businesses. This next-generation energy system combines rooftop solar systems with the world’s first integrated hybrid hydrogen battery to provide durable and dependable electricity.

According to the manufacturer, this technology functions as a “solar sponge,” capturing renewable energy by merging with solar panels. Water is used to create hydrogen, which is then stored in the system’s unique metal hydride. It has a 40 kWh capacity and can store enough solar energy to run an average home for two days. The system was also created to be long-lasting and capable of operating in harsh environments. It may also be managed and tracked via a specialized app.

The fuel cells for this hybrid energy storage system will be manufactured in a future plant in Queensland. In designing this revolutionary energy solution, LAVO collaborated with the University of Queensland. For the time being, it will only be used to power homes and businesses, but it has the potential to be employed in the automobile sector, according to It Matters To You. The presence of a hydrogen fuel cell production facility in the county will very certainly aid the automotive industry’s shift to more sustainable fuel sources.

The groundbreaking facility’s construction is expected to begin soon, with completion expected by the end of 2022.
