Fusion Fuel and Duferco Energia have reached a business agreement to work together to develop the green hydrogen ecosystem in Italy and a few other MENA markets.

Duferco Energia is a division of Duferco Group, a global steel and commodities trading firm, and is dedicated to the management of energy production assets and the marketing of energy services. The companies hope to build a pipeline of development opportunities and turnkey technology-sale projects by utilizing Duferco’s local sales network, understanding of local markets, and deep shipping and logistics expertise.

A 1.25 MW green hydrogen pilot project will be created at Duferco’s industrial site in Giammoro, Sicily, as the first project under the agreement. 50 of Fusion Fuel’s HEVO-Solar trackers are anticipated to be used in the proposed project, which would be installed in 2024. A distinctive and cutting-edge feature of the project would be the facility’s annual production of about 46 tonnes of green hydrogen, which would be used to power a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) system.
