FZU Zijin Hydrogen Power Technology, associated with Zijin Mining, a global metals giant, has achieved a significant milestone in hydrogen energy technology.
They have delivered 100 fuel cell stacks to Haiddriver, marking a pivotal step in the commercialization of their ammonia-based hydrogen technology.
The company has established three main product lines: emergency power systems using ammonia-hydrogen, industrial ammonia-to-hydrogen production technology, and ammonia-hydrogen power equipment. Holding 144 intellectual property rights, including 33 invention patents, their innovations include ammonia decomposition systems for producing hydrogen, reactors for ammonia decomposition, fuel cell systems, and hybrid engines. They also focus on ammonia-fueled internal combustion engines and intelligent control systems.
FZU Zijin’s technology is being tested in industries with high carbon emissions such as copper processing and glass manufacturing. The results have shown energy savings up to 26.5%, with annual electricity savings exceeding $82,000 per equipment set. Their power systems have been effective in various challenging locations, supporting operations like 5G base stations and electric vehicles. Efforts to apply these technologies to hydrogen-powered trucks and vessels are ongoing, aiming for comprehensive energy solutions.
