The biggest hydrogen electrolyzer in India is being procured by GAIL India. GAIL Chairman Manoj Jain told reporters at a CeraWeek event that global bids have already been requested for the acquisition of 10 MW capacity electrolyzers.
“In the next 12 to 14 months, the electrolyzer will be installed,” Jain added. It might be planted in Vijaypur, Madhya Pradesh, he added, but no final decision has been made on the location. GAIL’s Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG or LPG) capacity at Vijaipur is 4,00,000 tonnes. The 10 MW electrolyzer is intended to create 4.5 tonnes of green hydrogen per day. The world’s largest electrolyzer, by the way, is also 10 MW.
