Georgia will soon start using “green hydrogen,” Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated on December 18 as he summed up the year’s achievements.
“The study will be completed shortly, and we will begin a pilot project using green hydrogen,” the Georgian government’s leader stated.
The Georgian government and the German Development Bank signed a statement in Tbilisi in November to explore the potential of utilizing “clean” energy. The agreement envisions German investments in a pilot project to study the potential of “green hydrogen,” which will be launched on Georgian soil.
Natia Turnava, the head of Georgia’s Economy Ministry, had stated that this would help the country to lessen its reliance on natural gas imports.
It’s worth noting that “green” or “environmentally friendly” hydrogen is made from renewable water electrolysis. Because other sources of “green” energy are extremely reliant on weather conditions, he is expected to play a significant part in alternative energy.
