Germany and Denmark have decided to work together to accelerate the construction of green hydrogen transmission infrastructure starting in 2028 between western Denmark and northern Germany.
In order to reaffirm and strengthen their bilateral collaboration on green hydrogen, German Economy and Climate Minister Robert Habeck and his Danish counterpart, Lars Aagaard, signed a joint declaration of purpose.
Berlin and Copenhagen have signed an agreement to help future hydrogen infrastructure users and operators with project planning and execution.
Habeck made it plain that he anticipated the pipeline to provide sizeable volumes for German industry even though the countries were evasive about the project’s anticipated capacity.
The development and execution of future hydrogen infrastructure operators’ projects have been given top importance by both nations. One of the German-Danish energy projects that have gained momentum since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last year, which caused chaos on the European energy markets, is the hydrogen pipeline.
