Giga Carbon Neutrality (GCN), the clean trucking and technology company, unveiled a comprehensive range of zero-emission commercial vehicles it plans to bring to market over the next two years, responding to the demand for a diverse fleet of options from the world’s transportation and logistics operators.

By the end of 2023, GCN plans to introduce 21 new battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. GCN’s portfolio of commercial vehicles is highly adaptable and comprises a tractor unit, buses, and last-mile logistics vehicles. The company is now conducting extensive road and usability trials in China with its first prototype hydrogen-fueled tractor unit.

GCN designs its vehicles in Hangzhou, China, at a state-of-the-art research and development facility. GCN has developed its own proprietary hydrogen fuel cell technology and will first source batteries from industry leaders.

The GCN vehicles are constructed entirely of lightweight stainless steel and composite materials, which improves safety and results in weight and energy consumption reductions of at least 10%. The bodies of GCN cars are meant to survive a minimum of 20 years, substantially longer than those of other manufacturers.

GCN is collaborating with public and private sector partners to provide renewable energy storage, charging, and refueling infrastructure, as well as specialized finance, to accelerate the global adoption of its zero-emission commercial cars.

Marty Wade, CEO at Giga Carbon Neutrality, comments: “We are thrilled to give the world its first look at the future of zero-emission commercial transportation.”

“GCN is enabling a carbon-neutral future for some of the world’s most energy-intensive industries, with clean energy vehicles, new technologies and a fueling ecosystem to make running clean, reliable vehicle fleets easy for commercial transportation companies.”

Several GCN vehicles are immediately available for order, with delivery times ranging from three to twelve months. The company’s initial product line includes the following:

The GCN Hydrogen Tractor is a 44-tonne hydrogen fuel-cell truck capable of reaching a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour and a range of 580 kilometers before refilling. GCN’s ‘heavy truck’ is streamlined to minimize wind resistance and comes complete with an ergonomic cab design and a number of advanced safety measures, including driver tiredness warning systems. In China, a prototype of this car is already on the road.

The GCN City Vehicle is a 12-metre transit bus designed specifically for urban public transportation. GCN’s city bus, which seats up to 95 passengers, has a 350-kilometer range on a battery-electric power train and is equipped with a monocoque body and crash protection structure to ensure the driver and passengers’ safety. This vehicle is compliant with European Union requirements for use in the EU’s 27 member states.

The GCN Pure Electric Minibus is a 6.9-metre battery-electric minibus with an extremely long wheelbase and a flat floor structure that seats up to 13 passengers. GCN’s minibuses have a range of 240 kilometers on a single charge and are already in service on Hong Kong’s roads. This platform can potentially be used to construct autonomous automobiles.

The GCN Electric Logistics Vehicle is a battery-electric truck with a payload of eight tonnes designed to serve last-mile logistics in urban and rural locations. GCN’s logistics truck features a large loading space, can be modified to meet specific customer requirements, and can travel 250 kilometers on a single charge.
