GP JOULE plans to order 100 FCEVs from Nikola and IVECO

Nikola Corporation and IVECO signed a Letter of Intent with GP JOULE to purchase 100 Class 8, heavy-duty Nikola Tre hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs).

Nikola Tre FCEVs in the European 6×2 type will be produced at a joint venture between Nikola and Iveco Group in Ulm, Germany.

Thirty of the initial 100 Nikola Tre FCEVs are scheduled to arrive at GP JOULE by 2024. The remaining 70 vehicles will be delivered in 2025, with the option for GP JOULE to acquire them through GATE – Green & Advanced Transport Ecosystem, Iveco Group’s all-inclusive electric truck rental model. IVECO will perform the necessary maintenance and service functions. GP JOULE will make the 100 Nikola trucks available to its transport and logistics customers.

The deal is contingent on GP JOULE’s successful application for KsNI funding, Germany’s program that encourages the purchase of vehicles with alternative, environmentally friendly drives. Furthermore, GP JOULE and Iveco Group have agreed to market further FCEVs to European clients beginning in 2026. GP JOULE’s hydrogen refueling station network will offer them with 100% green hydrogen.
