Gujarat’s government and Ocior Energy, which has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for an investment of Rs. 40,000 crores in the State through the establishment of a green hydrogen-green ammonia and renewable energy project.
By 2030, the project is expected to be completed in two phases.
10,400 people would have direct and indirect work prospects thanks to the project, according to a government note. When the project is completed, it will be able to create 1 million tonnes of green ammonia annually. In the presence of the chief minister, Bhupendra Patel, the MoU was signed.
Ranjit Gupta, the chief executive officer of Ocior Enery, stated that the plant will have the potential to export Gujarati ammonia. Ocior’s headquarters are in the green hydrogen and green ammonia industries at ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market free zone), Abu Dhabi. The company wants to build green hydrogen and green ammonia facilities with a 4 GW capacity in North Africa, Central Asia, and India.
