DTOceanPlus project has finalized the implementation of standalone alpha versions for the different tools and modules which are now ready for the verification phase.
Project partners are stepping up the training and education activities to communicate closely with future tool users.
That means that the core functionality of each individual tool or module is complete and can run independently, with continuous software integration and data flow between modules to deliver valuable results to the users.
Standalone alpha versions of the tools built on standardized data formats to allow the sharing and reuse of information in ocean energy designs.
These alpha versions are based on the framework that was developed during the project to standardize the ocean energy system design data formats: a digital representation of the entire system elements at different aggregation levels and accounting for different levels of complexity.
The standalone alpha versions of the tool suite are now in the testing process. This process will be done by reviewing each tool and module to verify that they fulfill the functional and technical requirements specified at project start.
It will result in a beta version of the tools which the industrial partners within the project will demonstrate against real scenarios. That means that the suite will be run to showcase the applicability of the tools to concept generation and selection, technology development and farm deployment and optimization.
