Hydrogen Convergence Alliance (H2KOREA) has rebranded itself as the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, marking a significant shift in strategy and identity within the hydrogen industry. The decision, announced following a board meeting led by Chairman Kim Jae-hong and board members, aims to enhance clarity and better reflect the organization’s mission.
The organization, originally known as the Hydrogen Fusion Alliance, recognized the limitations of its former name, which hindered a broader understanding of its goals. The renaming process will culminate in final approval at the upcoming General Assembly, pending endorsement by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.
Under this new identity, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance intends to fortify its operational framework through strategic restructuring. This includes transitioning from general manager and vice chairman roles to secretary general and establishing a dedicated division head position. These changes are geared towards bolstering the alliance’s pivotal role in advancing the national hydrogen agenda.
Furthermore, organizational revitalization extends to enhanced support mechanisms for member companies. Plans are underway to attract new industry stakeholders and recruit specialized talent, ensuring proactive engagement with emerging challenges.
The board meeting also saw the appointment of key industry figures, including Doosan Fuel Cell CEO Lee Doo-sun and Korea Gas Safety Corporation Technical Director Park Hee-jun, as new directors. Their inclusion underscores the alliance’s commitment to integrating diverse expertise into its leadership ranks.
Chairman Kim Jae-hong emphasized that these transformative steps signify a renewed commitment to industry leadership and innovation. He affirmed, “Our evolution into the Korea Hydrogen Alliance reflects our determination to spearhead the development of our nation’s hydrogen economy. We aim to enhance our organizational capabilities through these progressive changes and drive sustainable growth significantly.”
