Haffner Energy has officially opened its hydrogen production, testing, and training center in Champagne, France.

This facility is located in the Vitry-Marolles industrial zone in Marne County and focuses on generating renewable hydrogen through a thermolysis process that converts biomass and organic waste into renewable gases and biocarbon.

The center is designed to operate continuously for 8,000 hours annually and aims to produce 120 metric tonnes of hydrogen per year. This output is equivalent to powering 12 million kilometers of hydrogen-fueled vehicles, significantly contributing to decarbonizing industries and transportation.

Facility’s Strategic Role Beyond hydrogen production, this site serves as a showcase for Haffner Energy’s technological capabilities and supports the company’s commercial growth. It provides a platform for testing various biomass types for clients and offers training in these technologies. The center, supported by over one million euros in French public funding, is key to the company’s strategic expansion.

The facility houses next-generation industrial equipment for syngas production, and hydrogen production is expected to start soon. It is a dedicated space for demonstrating Haffner Energy’s solutions, including the patented TEPC and Gasiliner modules, which enhance syngas production and utilize biocarbon.

Haffner Energy’s solutions are notable for their ability to process all types of biomass and organic waste, such as agricultural residues and household waste. This flexibility reduces the risk of resource conflicts and lowers energy costs, making projects more financially viable.

The project received substantial public backing, including financial grants from various French entities. This support underscores the government’s commitment to industrial and ecological innovation. Additionally, Haffner Energy has formed strategic partnerships, such as with IðunnH2, to further develop renewable fuels.
