Hexagon Purus, a global leader in zero-emission mobility and infrastructure solutions, has marked a significant milestone with a groundbreaking order for hydrogen distribution systems.
A leading global industrial gas company in the UK has placed an order valued at approximately EUR 3 million, propelling Hexagon Purus into the forefront of hydrogen logistics innovation.
Hexagon Purus’ hydrogen distribution systems, equipped with type 4 hydrogen cylinders, have achieved dual approval for both industrial and mobility applications in the UK and Europe. This achievement follows the UK’s departure from the EU and the implementation of new regulatory requirements for hydrogen cylinder storage in the UK. The systems will bear the UK “Rho” mark, denoting conformity with UK standards, while retaining the “Pi” mark for deployment in Europe.
Michael Kleschinski, EVP Hydrogen Infrastructure & Mobility of Hexagon Purus, highlights the strategic advantages of their distribution systems, emphasizing their ability to transport hydrogen efficiently from production sites to industrial clients or hydrogen filling stations for mobile applications. This not only enables high payloads but also contributes to reducing the total cost of ownership for Hexagon Purus’ customers.
Hexagon Purus’ achievement in securing dual approval for their distribution systems signifies a significant breakthrough in the evolving landscape of hydrogen logistics. The ability to seamlessly operate in both the European and UK markets positions Hexagon Purus as a versatile and reliable partner for global industrial gas companies.
The order’s value of EUR 3 million underscores the growing demand for advanced hydrogen distribution solutions. As the world continues to transition towards sustainable energy practices, Hexagon Purus’ dual-approved systems are poised to play a pivotal role in facilitating the efficient and widespread distribution of hydrogen across borders.
