Hexagon Purus, a Norwegian company based in Ålesund, has entered into a long-term agreement with Gillig LLC, a transit bus manufacturer from Livermore, California.

The deal involves supplying hydrogen fuel storage tanks for Gillig’s new fuel cell-powered transit buses. Hexagon Purus will produce these tanks at their facility in Westminster, Maryland. However, details about the initial shipment’s timeframe and quantity have not been disclosed yet.

This collaboration is expected to contribute significantly towards reducing the carbon footprint of the American public transport sector.
