Hexagon Purus announced its intention to deliver zero-emission hydrogen technology to the maritime industry, with a particular emphasis on Norway.
Hexagon Purus Marine was founded to accomplish this goal, and the business is aggressively recruiting from the maritime and hydrogen industries to grow its maritime workforce.
Although the business has global ambitions, Norway will be the initial focus due to the country’s strong maritime technology industries.
Hexagon Purus has expanded into the Norwegian marine industry in response to increased national demand for zero-emission vessels along the Norwegian coast, which was announced earlier this month with the launch of the Norwegian Hydrogen roadmap.
The Norwegian government has committed to the establishment of hydrogen hubs in the region and to the development of zero-emission vessels that are both competitive and safe for shipping in Norwegian seas.
These agreements, when paired with the Norwegian Parliament’s 2026 objective of making Norway’s UNESCO World Heritage Fjords one of the world’s first zero-emission zones at sea, constitute a tremendous opportunity.
