HRS has been awarded a contract to build a hydrogen refueling station as well as the piping infrastructure to link the electrolyser to various industrial and mobility applications.

This order is part of the HYGO Vannes initiative, which aims to expand the use of green hydrogen in the Brittany region of Morbihan.

Through this investment, the company HyGO (made up of the SEM of Morbihan Energies and ENGIE Solutions) will supply green hydrogen to the Michelin plant as well as a new public hydrogen refueling station in Vannes. The aim is to produce up to 300 kg of green hydrogen per day through electrolysis, which will be used to:

-provide a public green hydrogen refueling station for cars and trucks near the Michelin plant at ZI du Prat in Vannes;
-supply the plant’s manufacturing needs, as Michelin wants to use green hydrogen for its heat treatment processes.

The option of HRS to supply a latest-generation station (dual pressure 350 and 700 bar) with a capacity of 200 kg per day, due to be commissioned by the end of 2021, was officially confirmed by future operator ENGIE Solutions via its sustainable mobility gas GNVERT.

HRS will earn €780,000 in funding for its solution as the winner of the Hydrogen Mobility Ecosystems call for projects launched by the French energy and environmental agency ADEME. A budget of €992,000 has been set aside by ADEME to support potential buyers of electric fuel cell vehicles that use this refueling station.
