Hydrogen technology company HTEC has hired a new senior executive for its Quebec office as part of its Eastern Canada expansion strategy.
HTEC is Canada’s leading clean hydrogen solutions provider. Philippe Tanguy has joined HTEC as Chief Strategy Officer-Quebec, a newly created position.
This is Philippe’s new role, and he will be tasked with advancing the use of green hydrogen in Quebec.

Philippe will play a pivotal role in growing HTEC’s hydrogen supply solutions and fueling station networks to facilitate the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles across Canada,” said Colin Armstrong, HTEC’s President and CEO.

Previously, Philippe served as the President of Polytechnique Montreal, one of Canada’s premier research institutions, before joining HTEC. Polytechnique flourished under his stewardship, paving the way for increased global visibility and influence. For TotalEnergies, Philippe served as the Deputy CTO for the company’s energy transition and hydrogen economy initiatives. Apart from that, he’s worked as an academic and consultant around the world in the fields of process R&D, design, and operation optimization.
He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics, a master’s degree from the University of Paris, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (Laval). In addition, Philippe is a Quebec-licensed engineer.
