The hydrogen research center that will be built at the Cuenca Science and Technology Park has been emphasized by the general director of Universities, Research, and Innovation, Ricardo Cuevas “is going to establish this city as a national leader in renewable energy and sustainability challenges.
Cuevas made this statement during his address during the presentation of this project by the president of the Provincial Council of Cuenca, lvaro Martnez Chana, at the facilities of the provincial institution. Mari Luz Fernández, the sub-delegate of the Government in Cuenca, Marian Martnez, the delegate of the Board in this province, Emilio Nieto, the director of the National Hydrogen Center, and the member of the research unit also participated in the presentation.
The project is being developed in the Community and is being funded by the Community Board, the Ministry, as well as Next Generation grants from the European Union.
According to Cuevas, this project is being executed and coordinated primarily by the National Hydrogen Center in Puertollano, which will actively work with the Cuenca Provincial Council to develop the various investigations.
Through this project, he explained, “solutions will be proposed to problems such as the generation of green hydrogen and biomethane through the forest mass; the production of biofuels with hydrogen and CO2, or determine alternatives for storage or domestic use, in transport or in industry, among others”.
