In Vénissieux, the business HYmpulsion, which specializes in the development of hydrogen for mobility, has placed the first stone for a public hydrogen distribution station in collaboration with the Serfim group.
HYmpulsion opened a hydrogen distribution station available to all customers on the SERFIM facility in Vénissieux on Friday. The station is expected to be operational in October 2022.
HYmpulsion is a commercial enterprise that was founded to deploy heavy and light hydrogen mobility through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region’s Zero Emission Valley (ZEV) initiative. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Engie, Michelin, Banque des Territoires, and Crédit Agricole are all shareholders in the corporation. Its goal and aim are to build and operate 20 renewable hydrogen charging stations and three electrolyzers by the end of 2024.
HYmpulsion will expand its network to Clermont-Ferrand, Saint-Priest, Grenoble, and Moûtiers after a first station in the Chambéry conurbation in February 2020, and after the Vénissieux station, allowing hydrogen consumers to cross the region on the East-West axis with a renewable hydrogen charging solution.
“The activity of the hydrogen sector in our Region is attested to by this first stone of the first of the stations, which will be placed in 2022 on the territory of Auvergne Rhône Alpes.” We are pleased that the Region’s pioneering commitment within the scope of the ZEV project has functioned as a catalyst for the deployment of this technology, as Mickael PACCAUD, regional councilor representing President Wauquiez today, says. “ZEV helps to make Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes the pioneering area in carbon-free hydrogen because of its scale and inventive nature,” said Frédéric Bonnichon, Deputy Vice-President for the environment and positive ecology.
