Hynion has initiated the construction of its hydrogen refueling station in Västerås, Sweden. This station represents a new era of hydrogen refueling infrastructure, boasting an impressive daily capacity of 1,500 kg of hydrogen.
The project, supported by a grant of SEK 61.4 million from the Swedish Energy Agency, signifies a crucial step towards advancing hydrogen as a clean energy alternative.
Hynion, a key player in the hydrogen industry, is set to elevate Sweden’s hydrogen infrastructure with the development of two refueling stations. The Västerås station, strategically located adjacent to the E18, will be complemented by a second station in Jönköping, situated in the Torsvik logistics area next to the E4 south of the city. Both stations, targeted for completion in the first half of 2024, are designed with a shared capacity of 1,500 kg of hydrogen per day. However, slight delays in the delivery of critical subsystems have caused a minor setback in the expected completion timeline.
The station’s location in Västerås marks a pioneering moment for Sweden, with the city becoming the first to host a full-scale hydrogen refueling station.
