Kazakhstan, known for its vast landscapes, is set to embark on a new journey – as a green hydrogen and ammonia exporter to Europe. In a significant agreement signed at the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, Hyrasia One and Sarzha multifunctional marine terminal have joined forces to transport these clean energy carriers from Kazakhstan’s shores to global markets.

Hyrasia One and Sarzha Invest are taking the lead in pioneering hydrogen and ammonia transport from Kazakhstan’s Kuryk port to Europe. This partnership opens doors for storing, transporting, and exporting products generated from green hydrogen production projects along the Caspian Sea.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is poised to become a global energy highway. With the capability to transport 11 million tons of ammonia annually, this route offers a strategic advantage for Europe. Kazakhstan’s role in this vital energy corridor is set to change the energy landscape.

Kazakhstan’s Kuryk port is evolving into an international hydrogen terminal, unlocking access to markets in Asia and the Middle East. Wolfgang Kropp, CEO of Svevind Energy, discusses the transformative impact of this agreement and explores innovative transportation options.

Kazakhstan’s agreement to transport hydrogen and ammonia to Europe is a milestone in the energy transition. By linking continents and enabling the export of green energy, Kazakhstan is shaping the future of sustainable energy transport.
