The 2026 Hyundai Nexo is set to debut in 2025 with a revamped design and is expected to offer nearly 500 miles of range, a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Sharing some design cues with the Santa Fe, the new Nexo retains its unique identity while adopting more practical, straight lines for an improved SUV experience. Its boxy shape and notable features make it stand out, especially given its shorter wheelbase and distinct rear door waistline.

Hyundai has not yet revealed specifics about the new Nexo’s powertrain. However, it is expected to surpass the current model’s 161 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. The previous Nexo offers an EPA range of 380 miles, but sources suggest the new version will extend this to around 497 miles.

First available in the US in 2018, the original Nexo was later introduced in the UK and Australia. Sales in the US are mostly confined to California due to the higher availability of hydrogen refueling stations, though this has declined recently with the closure of several stations by Shell.

At CES in Las Vegas, Hyundai unveiled two innovative hydrogen production methods: Waste-to-Hydrogen and Plastic-to-Hydrogen.
