In a remarkable development poised to shape the future of sustainable urban living, India’s Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlement (KRIHS) are set to converge during a one-day forum in New Delhi on September 11, 2023. The topic of discussion: Green Hydrogen Smart Cities.
The Korea-India Infrastructure & Urban Development Forum, aptly titled “Hydrogen Smart City” Network, will serve as a nexus for decision-makers, policy shapers, and experts from diverse sectors. Distinguished participants include Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador of South Korea; Dr. Sudhendu J. Sinha, Advisor at Niti Aayog; K R Bonpo, Secretary of Commerce and Industry, Sikkim; and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang. The event will also draw representatives from both Indian and Korean industries with a keen interest in the green hydrogen domain.
Adding to the event’s significance is the support of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), a prominent national policy research institute focused on global economic issues. With its third overseas office recently inaugurated in Delhi, KIEP is expected to play a pivotal role in bolstering India-Korea economic relations.
Notably, the CIDC, NITI Aayog, and KRIHS have already initiated discussions on the ambitious plan to develop ten Green Hydrogen Smart cities across India. The one-day forum will serve as a strategic platform for brainstorming the possibilities and crafting a feasible framework for this visionary endeavor.
