Indonesia takes a resolute step towards realizing its commitment to clean energy transition with the implementation phase of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). The Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP) document’s release signifies a crucial milestone, marking the end of the planning stage and the initiation of tangible actions.

The JETP aligns seamlessly with Indonesia’s overarching vision, the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision. This visionary blueprint outlines key priorities, including inclusive clean energy, elevating human resource quality, driving economic growth, and reducing the poverty rate. The CIPP document serves as a strategic roadmap, meticulously addressing challenges in technical, financial, policy, and social justice realms.

Ad-Interim Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs, Erick Thohir, emphasizes Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to the energy transition. The nation’s resolve is not merely symbolic but grounded in a comprehensive plan that considers the intricacies of the transition process. This commitment is particularly evident in critical steps, such as supporting the development of new renewable energy sources, fostering green industrialization, and fortifying electrification in pivotal sectors like transportation.

The CIPP document serves as a guiding beacon for Indonesia’s ambitious energy transition. Erick Thohir underscores the document’s role in providing a strategic roadmap that navigates through the multifaceted challenges inherent in such a significant shift. The roadmap doesn’t merely outline technical aspects but delves into financial considerations, policy adjustments, and the imperative of ensuring social justice throughout the transition.

Erick emphasizes the need for enhanced and expedited collaborations to implement priority projects. The success of the JETP hinges on the efficient realization of projects outlined in the CIPP document. Acknowledging that 2030 is less than seven years away, he stresses the urgency of refining existing partnerships and accelerating the implementation of agreed-upon projects.

The CIPP document includes a crucial financing commitment, a testament to Indonesia’s seriousness about transitioning to cleaner energy sources. As the nation positions itself on the global map of clean energy leaders, the JETP’s implementation will play a pivotal role in achieving not just national but global sustainability goals.
