Energy News is proud to welcome Muhamed Ćatić to its Advisory Board, bringing decades of expertise in international business, sustainable development, and circular economy strategies.

A seasoned strategist with a career spanning continents and industries, Ćatić has become a pivotal figure in advancing global sustainability agendas and fostering cross-border collaboration. He’s an initial Advisory Board member of MedBiquitious Project (www.medbiq,org) and a former member of the Executive Committee of EAN International (International Article Numbering Association, now www.gs1.org )

His unique blend of technical acumen, business leadership, and commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) positions him as an invaluable asset to Energy News’ mission of driving informed discourse on energy transition and sustainable practices.

Ćatić’s professional journey is marked by a 25 years tenure as Group Director for International Development at IFFCO Group, a UAE-based multinational consumer goods giant, where he now serves as Executive Advisor.

His work has bridged markets across the Mediterranean, Asia, USA, and Africa equipping him with a deep understanding of diverse economic landscapes.

Ćatić’s expertise is rooted in a formidable academic foundation: a B.Sc. in Theoretical Mathematics and Physics from the University of Sarajevo, an M.Sc. in Information Systems from the University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu, and executive education from Stanford University, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Harvard Business School. His tenure as an Industry Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s ECNM Group further honed his ability to translate cutting-edge research into real-world solutions.

Driving Change Through Strategic Leadership

Beyond IFFCO, Ćatić’s influence extends across a network of sustainability-focused organizations. He serves as a strategic advisor to McDonough Innovation, a firm renowned for its indigenous sustainability system, and circular economy frameworks.

His board membership with the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation highlights his dedication to the rejuvenation of ancient knowledge focused on environmental preservation. Additionally, his earlier roles on advisory councils for UCLA’s Center for Middle East Development and Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed Technology Park reflect his commitment to fostering innovation ecosystems in emerging markets.
