The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Siemens Energy have signed a partnership agreement aimed at speeding up the global energy transition.
The organizations will strengthen their collaboration on the application of technology to advance and deepen the global transition to renewable energy under the terms of the agreement.
The broad scope of collaboration includes developing the business case for green hydrogen as a major contributor to deep decarbonisation, advancing joint efforts to promote heat generation and industrial processes, decarbonizing hard-to-decarbonize industries such as cement, steel, and petrochemicals, and facilitating private sector investment in renewables.
IRENA and Siemens will also share their knowledge and expertise in the field of renewable energy, including the development of roadmaps that prioritize communities and regions that currently lack access to modern energy.
