IYSERT Energy Research Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the prominent Korean technology company HEZ.

This partnership focuses on developing green hydrogen technology specifically for the automobile sector. According to Rakesh Biswas, chairman of the Jaipur-based IYSERT, this collaboration aims to increase fuel combustion efficiency by 30-40%.

Green hydrogen production in India is set to start by early 2027. Launched in January 2023, India’s Green Hydrogen Mission aims to make the country a global leader in green hydrogen production and export. With a budget of Rs 20,000 crore, the mission includes starting electrolyzer manufacturing by mid-2026 and achieving a green hydrogen production capacity of 5 million tonnes by 2030.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s goal to become a global hub for green hydrogen. During the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen, he called on the global scientific community to help shape policies for the sector. PM Modi highlighted India’s achievements in green energy and the country’s plans for wide-ranging production, utilization, and export of green hydrogen. Union ministers also pointed out India’s strengths in solar energy and an extensive power grid.

Torrent Power is planning to invest Rs 7,200 crore in producing green hydrogen and ammonia. The company aims to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 10 gigawatts by 2030 through projects worth Rs 57,000 crore. This initiative includes producing 100,000 kilo tonnes of green ammonia annually for domestic needs and export, potentially creating around 1,000 jobs.
