McDermott International stated that its CB&I Storage Solutions division has completed design work on a 40,000 cubic meter liquid hydrogen sphere as part of a study commissioned earlier this year by a major natural gas producer.

The conceptual design for a double-wall liquid hydrogen sphere with a storage capacity of 40,000 cubic meters is nearly eight times larger than the world’s largest liquid hydrogen sphere, which CB&I Storage Solutions is currently building for NASA.
