The energy firms LEAG and HH2E have affirmed their commitment to collaborate to establish a local and national green hydrogen economy in a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

This is especially true in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Brandenburg in connection with projects that both businesses have in the works at various levels of value-added development and application. Accelerating project completion and creating technical and financial synergies are the shared objectives. The creation of a cogent value chain from green hydrogen generation through transportation and energy use should be the main focus of concrete efforts.

With the GigawattFactory, which has seven gigawatts of combined PV and wind energy systems behind it, LEAG hopes to rank among Germany’s leading green electricity providers by 2030. At its power plant locations in Jänschwalde, Schwarze Pumpe, Boxberg, and Lippendorf, the company intends to construct new H2-ready power plants in order to make renewable electricity accessible securely and regardless of the weather.

German green energy startup HH2E was established with the goal of bringing about quick change. By 2030, it wants to have 4 GW of electrolysis capacity installed in Germany. A variable solar or wind energy feed-in may be converted by HH2E’s technology mix into a continuous flow of green hydrogen, heat, and carbon-free electricity at affordable costs to support regional businesses and communities.
