The City of Leszno has issued a tender titled “Purchase of Electric Buses and Charging Stations” as published on April 7, 2025.

The deadline for submissions is April 23, 2025. This tender plays a significant role in advancing Leszno’s commitment to sustainable transportation and the broader hydrogen industry by transitioning to zero-emission public transport options.

The tender seeks the procurement and delivery of seven new electric buses, each 12 meters long, with a capacity of at least 70 passengers, all from the same manufacturer, ensuring uniformity in construction, technical parameters, and equipment. The delivery includes the installation of four dual-station plug-in electric bus charging stations, also from the same manufacturer, and training for 38 personnel in bus and charger operation. This initiative supports environmental goals by reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, thereby enhancing urban air quality.

The tender’s technical requirements focus on promoting cohesive functionality within the public transport system. This includes a robust construction of buses and high-performance charging stations, aligning with the Clean Vehicles Directive standards recognized across Europe. Such a project would directly contribute to the EU’s objective of increasing the adoption of clean technologies in public transport.
