Letenda has struck a deal with Edmonton International Airport in Alberta to construct a fleet of hydrogen buses.

These vehicles, which were developed in conjunction with Mitsui, will be utilized in the fleet of airport shuttles that run within the Airport City’s Sustainability Campus and as parking shuttles for travelers parked at the airport starting in 2024.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached a deal with Edmonton International Airport to build and operate hydrogen buses and shuttles.” This new line of winter-ready buses will be a version of Letenda’s main product, the Electrip, which is powered by hydrogen,” stated Nicolas Letendre, President, and CEO.

In the longer future, the business plans to build a test and excellence facility on the Airport City Sustainability Campus that will serve as a hydrogen center of excellence as well as a service and distribution center for Western Canada.

“We also look forward to becoming a member of the ‘Airport City Sustainability Campus’ and actively helping in the development of a clean growth economy, particularly by developing sustainable public transportation and carbon-neutral shuttles like ours.” Mr. Letendre continued, “This initiative is in accordance with our essential principles of innovation, sustainable development, and teamwork.”
