Lhyfe and Exogen Hydrogen Solutions have joined forces to provide integrated decarbonization solutions powered by green hydrogen. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) heralds a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing industrial steam, district heating, and mobility applications through the use of renewable hydrogen.

The collaboration involves a commercial agreement designed to identify potential customers across Europe. Both Lhyfe and Exogen will leverage their products and services to benefit clients seeking integrated decarbonization solutions that blend thermal and mobility applications using green hydrogen. This approach responds to the increasing demand from multinationals and industrial clusters looking to maximize operating synergies by combining thermal and mobility solutions powered by green hydrogen.

The applications of this partnership are diverse and impactful. For instance, in industries requiring steam production, such as pulp and paper, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, and oil and gas, the hydrogen-powered Exogen HSP 3000 offers a groundbreaking solution. This zero-emissions steam plant eliminates all NOx and CO2 emissions and is shipped pre-assembled in container-sized units, simplifying deployment.

One of the remarkable aspects of the Exogen HSP 3000 is its emission of clean water, which can be recycled using Lhyfe’s green hydrogen production system. Lhyfe, a pioneer in green and renewable hydrogen production, employs water and renewable energies for hydrogen production through water electrolysis.

The Exogen HSP 3000’s base-load hydrogen demand profile makes it a catalyst for other hydrogen applications. As green hydrogen becomes available on-site and in industrial quantities, it can power additional applications like mobility, transport, and logistics, offering cost advantages through economies of scale.

Lhyfe is poised to expand its green hydrogen production significantly through this partnership. With six sites under construction in Europe, the company aims to achieve 55 MW of installed hydrogen production capacity by the end of 2024, reaching 200 MW by the end of 2026 and an impressive 3 GW by the end of 2030. This capacity will facilitate the decarbonization of transportation and industrial sectors, including chemicals, steel, and glass production.

This partnership with Exogen opens new avenues for growth for Lhyfe. Firstly, it can significantly expand its green hydrogen production to cater to the industrial steam market. Secondly, by entering the district heating and process steam sectors, Lhyfe is venturing into entirely new segments that promise further opportunities for green hydrogen production.
