Lhyfe, a global leader in renewable green hydrogen production, has secured a grant of up to €14 million from H2 Pioneros for the development of a green hydrogen plant in Spain.
Lhyfe’s green hydrogen plant in Vallmoll, Tarragona, Spain, signifies the company’s commitment to revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape. With a production capacity of up to 5 tons per day, the plant aims to meet the increasing demand for green hydrogen in industrial applications and transportation. Lhyfe, known for its expertise in renewable hydrogen production, boasts a dedicated team of around 200 employees, and this project adds to the seven sites currently under construction across Europe.
The plant’s strategic location in an industrial area addresses the growing need for green hydrogen from various industrial players. Potential clients span chemical and other industrial sectors seeking to transition from fossil fuels to green hydrogen in their production processes. Additionally, transportation and logistics companies looking to embrace hydrogen-powered electric vehicles will find a sustainable solution in Lhyfe’s green hydrogen.
The grant from H2 Pioneros, one of only 14 awarded in Spain in 2023, represents a significant investment in the project, covering design, equipment supply, and construction phases. The plant is anticipated to start producing its first kilos of green hydrogen in 2026. This development aligns with Spain’s broader efforts to enhance its hydrogen infrastructure, promoting the adoption of renewable energies in various industries.
Lhyfe’s venture into Spain marks a pivotal moment in the country’s journey towards sustainable and renewable energy.
