The world’s largest chemical company, BASF, has signed a long-term agreement with Linde for the supply of hydrogen and steam.
Adding a second hydrogen production facility in France’s Chalampé chemical park, Linde will design, build, own, and operate the new facility, doubling its current capacity there. By supplying BASF’s new hexamethylenediamine (HMD) manufacturing facility, as well as Linde’s local merchant customers’ rising hydrogen demand, this second plant will serve a dual purpose. When will the plant be operational? The first half of 2024.
Veerle Slenders, President Region Europe West, Linde, said, “Hydrogen plays a key role in the manufacturing of essential chemicals for industry.” “When it comes to supplying and supporting our customers, Linde has developed a hydrogen production technology that has been in use for decades. We’re excited to work with BASF as it expands its French manufacturing capabilities.”
Linde is a world leader in hydrogen production, processing, storage, and distribution. They have built the world’s most extensive network of hydrogen liquefaction plants and gaseous pipelines to distribute hydrogen.
