H-Tech Systems, a VW subsidiary, is receiving a 500 million euro investment. “We aim to make hydrogen a major pillar,” Uwe Lauber, CEO of MAN Energy Solutions, told Handelsblatt.

By 2030, the goal is to sell more than one billion euros worth of electrolyzers and become one of the top three suppliers in the world. “We’re not going to screw around.” Either we do it correctly or we don’t do it at all.”

For some time, MAN Diesel & Turbo, a long-established producer of huge engines, has been working on its own energy transition. By 2030, businesses using sustainable technology should account for more than half of all revenues. It should be around 10 percent right now.

Hydrogen is a crucial component in this process. The company aspires to be Germany’s top provider of hydrogen generating units. H-Tec Systems, an electrolyzer specialist, was acquired by MAN Energy Solutions last year.
