McPhy has acquired 8 hectares of property at the Aéroparc de Fontaine in Belfort and plans to build Europe’s largest electrolyzer facility there by 2024.

Eventually, 450 people will be working at this gigafactory. It will serve as the “flagship” of the region’s hydrogen industry. Belfort will become one of the French hydrogen capitals thanks to the investment of 30–40 million euros by the group.

Rapid progress will be made, and the facility will go live in 2024.

There will be customers for the factory all throughout Europe, and Belfort is included in that. The plant is expected to employ roughly 100 people beginning in 2024, and 450 by 2027.
