Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has inked a time charter contract with Trammo, a renowned international merchandising and ammonia trading organization, to re-enter the ammonia transport sector with the Green Pioneer, a 35,000 cbm-type ammonia/LPG carrier.

MOL was in the ammonia shipping sector until 2016, and this deal is the company’s return to it.

MOL owns the world’s largest LNG fleet, which is poised for expansion as a low-carbon fuel, and has been heavily integrated in LNG value chains through its powership and FSRU operations. The MOL Group will slowly build a track record in the safe and dependable transportation of ammonia and hydrogen, which are predicted to be in great demand as fuel in the future, and will actively participate in a wide range of value chains to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society.
