Ballard to present FCmove hydrogen fuel cell modules for public transportation in Barcelona
On June 4–7, 2023, Barcelona will host the UITP Global Transport Summit, when Ballard Power Systems will present their FCmove hydrogen fuel cell modules for zero-emission public transportation, the most recent generation.
For the unique needs of transit buses, New Ballard’s 70kW FCmove HD and 100kW FCmove-HD+ are available in rooftop and engine bay versions.
Ballard-powered buses and trucks have now traveled more than 150 million kilometers worldwide. Hydrogen fuel cell buses with FCmove range products have been in revenue service since the mid-2000s.
HyStock makes ‘Open Season’ for hydrogen storage
HyStock, a Gasunie company tasked with creating large-scale hydrogen storage in salt caverns, will launch a ‘Open Season’ for market participants in June 2023. HyStock is offering storage space during this open season in the first hydrogen storage cavern being built near Zuidwending in Groningen.
In order to bridge the gap between the divergent supply and demand of renewable energy, there is likely to be an increase in the demand for large-scale hydrogen storage in the future years.
Hydrogen will be crucial in the Netherlands’ effort to increase sustainability. both as a source of energy and as a raw material. In Zuidwending, close to Veendam, HyStock is developing a number of salt caverns for massive hydrogen storage.
Caerphilly County Borough Council investigates green hydrogen options
In order to fulfill its promise to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030, Caerphilly County Borough Council is working with a number of knowledgeable partners to investigate options for the creation and use of green hydrogen across its activities.
Hydrogen is produced through electrolysis, which involves running an electrical current through water to separate it into its two component parts, hydrogen and oxygen. When the power utilized in the electrolysis process is produced from renewable resources, such as wind or solar energy, the phrase “green hydrogen” is used. Instead of using “tap water,” which is best used as “drinking water,” projects being considered by the Council will take into account the usage of ethical water sources by using water from the authority’s reed bed facility.
Coveney encourages development of green hydrogen
Following a study that suggested the industry might boost the Irish economy by €2.1 billion, Simon Coveney has encouraged the development of green hydrogen generating capacity.
The potential advantages of developing hydrogen-based e-fuels for the aviation industry, including the creation of nearly 10,000 employment by 2050, have been described in a new report by Hydrogen Mobility Ireland (HMI).
Despite Coveney’s support for the industry, the research notes certain significant obstacles to the growth of green hydrogen generation, including insufficient electrical sources.
TRAXX Concept H2 – first hydrogen-powered grape tractor in the world launched
The TRAXX Concept H2 is the first hydrogen-powered grape tractor in the world.
The zero-emission alternative to gasoline and diesel is used by the EXXACT Robotics TRAXX Concept H2 without compromising performance or work efficiency.
By displaying the first autonomous hydrogen wine tractor in the world at World FIRA 2023, EXXACT Robotics made a significant breakthrough. EXXACT Robotics, the cutting-edge research division of EXEL Industries, is committed to the creation of game-changing technology. The most recent manifestation of their efforts is TRAXX Concept H2.
Oman to establish hydrogen industry
Oman plans to establish its own hydrogen industry by 2025 and may eventually export to Switzerland. Energy Minister Salim al-Aufi remarked, “That is why we are in touch with energy suppliers from your country.
The energy minister claimed that his nation has excellent potential for producing hydrogen using solar and wind power.
