During a lively discussion with industry stakeholders, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri covered potential in the developing green hydrogen sector.
He declared, “Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, alternative sources of energy will play a crucial part in India’s march towards energy self-sufficiency.
The discussions included initiatives being made in the manufacturing, transportation, storage, and application sectors of the green hydrogen sector.

GJU and THWS establish two exchange programs in hydrogen technology
The German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wurzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) signed an MoU on Sunday to establish two exchange programs in hydrogen technology and social work. After a preparation year and two academic years at GJU, students will finish their program at THWS and receive their degree.
GJU also launched “GJU talks,” a series of topical subject conversations, at the ceremony. President Robert Grebner opened the presentation. GJU President Alaeddin Al Halhouli and Grebner signed the MoU on the Madaba campus with Dhafer Al Sarayrah, chair of the higher education accrediting commission. The university claims the region’s first hydrogen technology engineering exchange program.
HPCL building green hydrogen plant in Andhra Pradesh
HPCL is building a green hydrogen plant in Visakh Refinery, Andhra Pradesh. This factory intends to make India a leader in green hydrogen generation, use, and export.
The plant’s 370-ton-per-year electrolyzer capability reduces India’s fossil fuel imports. The Indian government is committed to renewable energy, and it will be completely operational by September. This project, which includes solar plants in Karnataka, shows India’s commitment to clean, sustainable energy. This major move shows HPCL’s commitment to a greener future.
Palma town doesn’t have enough hydrogen to power five hydrogen buses
There isn’t enough hydrogen to power Palma town hall’s five hydrogen buses.
The former administration introduced the buses in March, with new mobility councillor Antoni Deudero calling the acquisition a sham and a lie. They were bought without fuel assurance. Five buses cost 4.8 million euros—almost one million each. Natural gas buses cost €280,000. “They could have bought 15 gas buses that would now be on the roads.”
Deudero said the Lloseta facility cannot create hydrogen and shipping laws limit hydrogen tank pressure. Buses are “impossible” to operate. He also claims refrigerant contaminates bus fuel cells.
