Sikkim delegation visits South Korea to investigate green hydrogen investments
A Sikkim delegation led by Secretary of Commerce & Industries Karma R Bonpo visited South Korea to investigate South Korean green hydrogen investments.
The delegation met with Jo Jin Cheol, Managing Director of India-Pacific Urban Infrastructure Development Partnership Center at the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlement (KRIHS), Kang Tae WooPark, JNK Heaters Co. representative Jong Han, and Vinatech Co. Chief Operating Officer Gyeng Chul Kim. The topics focused on Green Hydrogen and renewable cities.
The delegation also visited a Seoul hydrogen station. This station produced hydrogen from Korean landfill methane. The JNK Heater Co.-operated station could produce 600 kg of hydrogen everyday. Sikkim’s government wanted to become a national hydrogen hub. They planned to use the state’s water resources to manufacture green hydrogen for transportation, building, housing, and industry. The State Government, led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, supported green hydrogen. Sikkim’s ambition was to become India’s green investment destination.
