The first hydrogen-powered double-decker bus in Hong Kong will go on service in a month, according to its owner Citybus, who also reports that the bus has just begun a round of unloaded road testing.
The bus, which produces no emissions on the road, has tested for 200 kilometers (124 miles) at the company’s West Kowloon depot and has successfully completed several refuelings at the first hydrogen refill station in the city, according to Citybus.
In order to guarantee the safe operation of the vehicle and refueling station, the company has also implemented a training program for engineers and bus drivers, with the first batch having already finished the course.
