First hydrogen tourist bus starts operating in Gwangyang

In Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, the first hydrogen tourist bus with subsidies was unveiled.

Gwangyang City has secured a budget of about KRW 7.1 billion this year to build a hydrogen city (KRW 5.8 billion from national funds, KRW 1.3 billion from provinces and cities). Purchase subsidies of KRW 370 million per hydrogen high-floor bus and KRW 390 million per hydrogen low-floor bus per vehicle will be provided.


Putrajaya mobile hydrogen refueling station to open by 2024

Through MOSTI, the government hopes to launch a mobile hydrogen refueling unit (MHRU) pilot project in Putrajaya by year’s end.

In July 2023, MOSTI signed a cooperation document with local industry partners with the support of his ministry. Now, MOSTI is working with UMW Toyota Motor to promote hydrogen mobility, especially in Peninsular Malaysia.

He said this during an MHRU demonstration refueling exercise at Complex C in Putrajaya today using a Toyota Mirai. Prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the ceremony and was transported back to his office in a hydrogen-powered Mirai after receiving a briefing on hydrogen technology.


Kathmandu University generates hydrogen

Sunday marked the successful generation of hydrogen by Kathmandu University (KU) following two years of study and testing concerning the manufacture and application of green hydrogen.

Financial support was provided by Nepal Oil Corporation for the manufacture of hydrogen and its application in automobiles.

Two years ago, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and KU came to an agreement about the use of hydrogen as an alternative fuel in Nepal, policies pertaining to hydrogen use, applications for hydrogen, and showcasing the viability of hydrogen-powered vehicles on the country’s roads.
