The ASEAN Green Hydrogen Conference (AGH2) 2024, hosted by RoomofLeaders (RoL), has started in Kuala Lumpur, marking a milestone in the quest for sustainable energy solutions.
The conference opened with Datuk Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, unveiling the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). Emphasizing Malaysia’s commitment to a hydrogen-based economy by 2050, the roadmap outlines ambitious targets for renewable energy adoption and economic growth.
PETRA’s proactive engagement with ministries and private sectors underscores Malaysia’s dedication to driving energy transformation. Through initiatives like the Water Sector Transformation 2040 (WST 2040), Malaysia aims to revolutionize water management and ensure sustainable access to water resources.
Fadillah emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral and international collaboration in advancing regional initiatives like the ASEAN Power Grid. By facilitating knowledge exchange and technology transfer, Malaysia aims to accelerate the adoption of green technologies across the ASEAN region.
NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB), a key collaborator in the conference, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting green hydrogen technology and sustainable economic development in ASEAN. Through initiatives like the Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR), NMB aims to integrate nanotechnology into green hydrogen initiatives.
