Air Products and Chemicals of Allentown, Pennsylvania has been given a contract by NASA to deliver up to 7.5 million pounds of liquid hydrogen in order to support operations at the Kennedy Space Center and the neighboring Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The firm-fixed price delivery orders under the contract for indefinite delivery requirements have a maximum value of about $75 million. The contract has a base period that starts on December 9 and an option period that, if exercised, would extend it until November 30, 2025.
The foremost multi-user spaceport in the country and NASA’s primary launch facility is the Kennedy Space Center. The site is also home to the research and development facilities needed by government and private space companies to work and live on the Moon’s surface and the surfaces of other bodies in our solar system. In cryogenic rocket engines, liquid oxygen and hydrogen are used by NASA, and the commodity’s special features help advance aeronautics.
