The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is spearheading a massive recruitment drive as it prepares to launch the world’s largest green hydrogen plant by 2026, located in Oxagon, within Saudi Arabia’s futuristic NEOM region.

This effort is part of an expansive strategy to build a highly skilled and diverse workforce, spanning areas like corporate functions, Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS), risk management, operations, finance, IT, and cybersecurity.

Showing significant interest, a recent virtual career fair hosted by NGHC attracted over 9,000 registrations. Attendees were given the chance to engage with NGHC’s talent acquisition team and hiring managers, obtaining valuable insights on various career opportunities within the company.

As of August 2024, NGHC’s workforce includes 16% female employees and 43% Saudi nationals, reflecting the company’s commitment to gender diversity and the development of local talent. The company is actively collaborating with Saudi universities to inspire and train the next generation in the green hydrogen sector. These partnerships aim to bolster the Saudi workforce, offering future training programs and initiatives aligned with NGHC’s goals.

Production Targets

The green hydrogen plant is a collaboration between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM. It is projected to produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen daily by the end of 2026. This green hydrogen will be converted into green ammonia for use in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry and transportation. NGHC expects the plant to diminish global CO2 emissions by up to 5 million tonnes annually once operational.
