The Nordex Group has received an order for the supply and installation of nine N149/4.0-4.5 turbines for the Finnish Kokkoneva project from its main client, ABO Wind.

The turbines will be delivered in 4.8 MW mode of operation. The contract also includes the turbines’ premium service contract for a 15-year term with an option to extend it to 25 years.

The 43.2 MW Kokkoneva wind farm will be constructed in the municipality of Siikalatva in north-eastern Bottnia. The Nordex Group will supply the cold climate version of the wind turbines and install them on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 155 meters.

This allows the turbines to achieve the maximum yield possible at the site, with an average annual wind speed of 7.4 m/s.

The start of the installation is scheduled for the second half of 2021.

“We are very pleased with the renewed confidence in our technology and service expertise from ABO Wind. With this order, we are further expanding our position in the important wind market in Finland, where we have been active for a decade now and have achieved a leading position.”
